It was standing room only at the launch of the new Comeunity Neighbourhood Centre on Friday 8 June, such was the level of interest and excitement for this new facility.

The event was attended by the Mayor and Mayoress who along with more than 100 visitors, were given a guided tour of the building by local residents and volunteers. Food and refreshments were provided by local businesses, including Portuguese Cafes, and guests were encouraged to get involved in a range of activities, including helping to paint a tapestry.

Amongst other projects the building will house a Credit Union and members of the local Safer Neighbourhood Team.

The Comeunity Programme aims to bring together cross sector services to better serve the needs of residents living within South, and Central Yarmouth.
