FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

With the delivery of wheeled bins due to commence on 20^th March 2006 to the remaining areas of Great Yarmouth not already part of the scheme, Great Yarmouth Borough Council is holding a series of open day events. Residents who live in these areas are invited to pop along to one of the following venues and learn more about how the scheme will work. The open days will be on:

Monday 13^th March
10am – 4pm at St. Paul’s Church c/o Caister Road and Salisbury Road, Gt Yarmouth

Tuesday 14^th March
10am – 4pm at Pegotty Road Community Centre, Gt Yarmouth

Friday 17^th March
10am – 4pm at Gt Yarmouth Town Hall, Gt Yarmouth

This phase of the wheeled bin introduction will see a further 6000 properties receive their two wheeled bins. Each household will be delivered a green wheeled bin for their recycling and a grey one for their remaining rubbish with each bin being emptied on an alternating weekly basis.

Rob Cole the Councils Recycling and Waste Minimisation Officer said:

“The open days that were held previously in areas that have already received wheeled bins were a great success. Not only did they give people the opportunity to see exactly what they would be receiving but also helped us to spot potential problem areas. I hope residents will come along to one of the events to have a chat or discuss any concerns they may have.”
