Teeing Up for Easter

Philip Smith grass cutting at Bure Park

The green keepers at Bure Park Great Yarmouth have been preparing the Pitch and Putt course to ensure it is ready for its Good Friday opening.

Work by Head Green Keeper Philip Smith and his assistant Philip Robinson has been going on for weeks to get the 18-hole golfing attraction ready for the season.

The two men have applied lawn sand to kills moss, raked out the dead moss and grass and then applied fertiliser to create a good sward.

“The course is in excellent condition as always and will be open to the public until the last day of October,” said GYB Services Operations Manager Bob Allen.

The pitch and putt is situated in the 20-acre Bure Park on Caister Road. The park also offers wide open spaces for walking, a lake with wild fowl, children’s play area and seating for picnics.

The pitch and putt costs £4.30 per person, per round, and is open from 10am to dusk seven days a week.
