Great Yarmouth & Norfolk’s marine and boatbuilding industries will be showcased at the forthcoming Seawork International exhibition in Southampton. The Great Yarmouth Marketing Initiative (GYMI) and Marine East are giving companies the opportunity to exhibit on the ‘Great Yarmouth – East of England’ stand at the popular event.

Seawork International will celebrate its tenth anniversary this year (12-14 June) as the primary commercial marine exhibition in the UK. The event covers every aspect of the industry from design and build of vessels to repair, maintenance, manufacture and supply of all onboard equipment. Seawork also covers marine civil engineering and port development projects as well as vessel operation within harbours.

DiveWork, the only UK exhibition dedicated to the commercial and military diving sectors is also incorporated in the three-day show which has grown annually, attracting 5,600 visitors in 2006.

Marine East, the new association in East Anglia to facilitate the development of technology, innovation and competitive improvement in the marine industry will be exhibiting alongside GYMI, promoting the port and industry of Great Yarmouth at the show. The project, being backed by the British Marine Federation and the Anglia Boatbuilders’ Association is keen to attract new young talent to the industry as well as celebrating the high standards of work carried out within the region.
