Please Come and Join Us as Gorleston Celebrates Award of Blue Flag
Great Yarmouth Borough Council is celebrating the award of a blue flag for Gorleston beach by inviting you to witness it being run-up the flag pole at 3pm on Friday, May 25.
The 'ceremony' will take place in the gardens by the first aid station on Gorleston seafront.
Gaining the blue flag says a great deal for the standards we have achieved in Gorleston," said Environmental Strategy Officer, Michael Stephenson. “It is an international award which shows we have one of the best beaches in the country.
"It acknowledges high quality in water, facilities, safety, environmental education and management."
"We will also be proudly displaying our Quality Coast Award which is awarded by ENCAMS (formerly Tidy Britain) and recognises high standards of beach management. Both Gorleston and Great Yarmouth Central beaches have been successful in achieving this exciting new award this year."
"We would be pleased if you will attend the 'ceremony'."
