Great Yarmouth Best Value Satisfaction Surveys
PR 281For Immediate Release
8 November 2006
Great Yarmouth Borough Council is asking residents about the quality of services provided by the Council.
The Council conducts a survey every three years under Government legislation, to help plan for the future by gathering resident’s opinions on the quality of local public services.
A general questionnaire was sent to 3,000 randomly selected households in September. Those receiving them were asked to reply by November 30.
The questionnaire asks for comments on satisfaction levels on topics as diverse as waste collection and recycling, cleanliness of the Borough, cultural and recreational facilities, and parks and open spaces.
“We have had a good response so far with 37 per cent,” said Corporate Services Officer Colin Rowland. “But the more questionnaires that are returned the better idea we will have of what people in the Borough feel about our services, so we can put resources where it really matters.
“The results will appear in the Council’s Best Value Performance Plan which is due to be published in June 2007. They will also appear on the Council’s website
www.great-yarmouth.gov.uk
The survey is one of four being undertaken by the Council this year the others are more specific and the people contacted are users of the services which are benefits, planning and Council house tenants.
The surveys once completed can be returned in the stamped addressed envelope supplied.
If anyone has received a questionnaire and needs help they can contact Colin Rowland on 01493 846168.
