Talented Artists on Display in Great Yarmouth

PR 290

For Immediate Release

22 November 2006

TALENTED ARTISTS ON DISPLAY IN GREAT YARMOUTH

Nearly 200 original works of art will be on display at Great Yarmouth library from November 28.

Local artists have responded in their droves to the Picture for the People event organised by the SeaChange Trust, with sponsorship from Great Yarmouth Port Authority.

Held at the Central Library, Tolhouse Street, the 38th annual exhibition gives a unique opportunity for local artists to display their work, and visitors to purchase anything from an oil painting to a ceramic.

“We have been extremely pleased with the number of exhibits and the quality,” said Project Manager Sarah Ballard.

“The range of subjects and the materials used shows a breadth of talent

“We have everything from land and seascapes, to portraits including one of Elvis.

“There should be something to interest everyone, whether their taste is for pastels, acrylics or line drawings. Our exhibitors include a 17-year-old student who has submitted photographs, and a painter in his 70s who uses acrylics.

“For some artists this is their first exhibition, while at the other end of the spectrum we have well known local names such as Emrys Parry and Katarzyna Coleman.

“Please come along. You will enjoy the experience, and there is the opportunity to buy an original gift for someone. Prices start at £20.”

The free exhibition is open between 10am and 5pm Mondays to Saturday from November 28 to December 16.

For further information contact SeaChange Trust Project Manager Sarah Ballard on 01493 846550, or 07913 282974.
