28 November 2006
Seven companies from Great Yarmouth, Lowestoft and Norwich are off for Singapore this weekend for the 16
th International Offshore South East Asia (OSEA) – with a first for the industry on display.
Great Yarmouth company Applied Acoustic Engineering, is talking the opportunity to launch its new USB ‘Easytrak’ System - a truly portable underwater positioning and tracking system which is simple to set-up, straightforward to operate and is extremely reliable - at the prestigious event.
The trip has been organised by Great Yarmouth Marketing Initiative (GYMI).
Applied Acoustic Engineering will be joined at the exhibition by other top local businesses Gardline Marine Sciences, Norfolk Capacitors, Oceanteam 2000 and Seabed Scour Control Systems from Great Yarmouth, e3a3 from Lowestoft and Laurence Scott & Electromotors (LSE) from Norwich who will all be promoting their expertise, products and services as part of the UK group at what promises to be the biggest and most watched OSEA exhibition in history.
The event expects to attract 10,000 professionals focusing on offshore exploration and production issues in Asia. The event will cover technology, market trends, offshore services and operational concerns as industry and business professionals from more than 60 countries look to tap into new business opportunities.
Offshore and onshore activity in the Asian region is high and looks to stay that way for some time, and that is why GYMI, with a remit to promote the port and industry of Great Yarmouth at home and abroad, is supporting these businesses in attending this event and promoting the town as a whole.
“We’re delighted by the up-take of this event by local companies” said Stephanie Pimlott, Co-ordinator of the GYMI stand. “It’s vitally important that we continue to promote the skills and expertise of the town in an international arena, and a stand with seven companies from Great Yarmouth and the surrounding region is a sign of the strength of the supply chain in this area.”
Seabed Scour Control Systems will be promoting its Frond Scour Protection Systems which have been used extensively worldwide for more than twenty years to protect all types of sub-sea installations including pipelines, platforms, drill rigs, sub-sea manifolds, templates, protection structures and cables and umbilicals.
The event also coincides with the recent award of a major contract to Gardline Hydro, part of GMSL, in South East Asia to perform specialist wide area seabed mapping services in depths up to 3,500 metres. Two multi-role survey vessels will be tasked to the region later this winter; MV Ocean Endeavour and MV L’ Espoir.
“By exhibiting at OSEA 2006, ot2k is looking at what it can offer the vibrant Asian market” said Trevor Bayfield from Oceanteam 2000 (ot2k) which has recently expanded its fleet with five new Sub Atlantic ROVs (Remotely Operated Vehicles) and two TMS (Tether Management Systems); enhancing the ability to provide turnkey integrated project services.
Electric motor specialists LSE, has been involved in most of the major North Sea developments of offshore platforms and FPSOs working with many of the major oil companies. With more than 100 years experience, LSE is renowned for its development of low starting current motors and large two pole motors, which evolved primarily to satisfy the oil companies’ offshore developments in the UK sector of the North Sea.
e3a3 Director Steven Scales explained why he is exhibiting with GYMI for the second time. “Going to a show with GYMI is so easy and trouble free, we are able to arrange important business meetings around the exhibition, knowing that our stand will always be manned so we don’t miss out on new leads.”
GYMI will be exhibiting on stand 4M4-06 at OSEA, 05-08 December.
