Successful Fly-tipping Prosecution!
PR 270
For Immediate Release
17 October 2006
A businessman was fined £600 with £400 costs when he admitted fly-tipping in Great Yarmouth.
The case was brought by Great Yarmouth Borough Council against Mustafa Aydin, of London Road South, Lowestoft.
CCTV cameras showed Mr Aydin dumping cardboard boxes near his hair and beauty products shop in Broad Row, Great Yarmouth.
“It is good to have a positive outcome to the problem of fly-tipping,” said Head of Environmental Health John Hemsworth.
“We will continue to battle this nuisance and take cases to court where we have good evidence such as the CCTV footage. The case was investigated and presented by our Environmental Rangers who did an excellent job.
“But they also need the help of the public in reporting cases when they see them happen.”
