Each year Great Yarmouth Borough Council in partnership with GYB Services offers parents the opportunity to plant a tree to celebrate the birth of their child – so far this year just eight families have responded.
The Trees for Life ceremony is due to take place on Thursday 29th November 2007 at 2.30 pm at Bure Park (to the left of the car park, by the pavilion and play area) and the Mayor, Councillor Paul Garrod will be in attendance.
Tree and Landscape Officer Patrick Tabor said: “We are planting 120 young trees on Bure Park to replace some old trees we recently removed and to further enhance this open space for the resident’s of Great Yarmouth.”
Parents are welcome to come and watch or take part in the tree planting. If they are not able to attend, their child can still be part of Trees for Life.
If you have had a baby born between December 2005 and now you can commemorate this - but you only have until Friday the 23rd of November to register.
