It is expected that receding water will leave some silt and other material. The Council will be carrying out assessments of affected areas so that additional cleaning and litter clearance can be organised.

Great Yarmouth Borough Council has provided a dedicated phone line 01493 846478 for the public to contact them if they know of any areas that require cleaning as a result of flooding.

Borough Council services were quickly restored as staff made their way in as roads in Great Yarmouth returned to normal.

Soon after mid-day all services were restored, with the exception of refuse collection. Arrangements will be made to collect the backlog next week.
