Great Yarmouth’s own ‘Active England’ project is inviting young people in the Borough to come to the Marina Centre and enjoy getting active during the October half-term school holidays.

Active England, which is funded by Sport England and supported by Great Yarmouth Primary Care Trust and Great Yarmouth Borough Council on behalf of Great Yarmouth Sports Partnership, has put together a one week programme of sports and fun for all ages in the Borough.

Continuing from its summer success, the Active England holiday adventure days will run from 9.00 am to 4.00 pm and cost just £9 a day. There will be a mix of sporting activities and experiences on offer including: power kiting with our IKO qualified instructors, climbing on our very own wall, beach based sports, football from our FA qualified coaches, basket ball, volleyball, handball, swimming and much more.

During the summer holidays over 300 local children aged between five and twelve participated in the adventure days at the Marina Centre.

Marten Payne the projects co-ordinator said: “The summer was a massive success with so many children learning new sports and skills; we hope October will be just as much fun.”
