It's Official: Yarmouth is Great For Business...
…that’s the bold message being projected from a new campaign aimed at helping the residents and businesses of Great Yarmouth create a better business environment for the future.
Part of an £8.7 million government-funded scheme designed to support enterprise and investment in local communities, enterpriseGY is responsible for creating enterprise opportunities in and around Great Yarmouth, which involves delivering a wide range of free practical tools and support.
The enterpriseGY brand campaign, which hits the streets and airwaves this month, features a range of realistic business scenario’s to help illustrate the tangible benefits on offer and include; Tom the boat-builder, Melanie the dress-maker, Gina the florist and Lewis the builder.
The enterpriseGY programme is about encouraging people to set-up or grow successful, sustainable businesses in the Borough, and build a greater sense of enterprise amongst young people. The campaign aims to spread the word using everything from billboards to taxi-wraps and radio ads to giant bus-backs, taking the message to the heart of the Great Yarmouth community.
Richard Percy, Programme Manager for enterpriseGY, says “The programme has big ambitions and involves a range of partner agencies working together with local communities and businesses. Collectively, we want to make Great Yarmouth a better place for running a business and a better place for the people of Great Yarmouth to work in.”
If anyone in the Borough of Great Yarmouth is thinking of starting-up their own business, expanding their current business or developing their work-related skills, then enterpriseGY can help. Partner organisations involved in delivering specific aspects of the programme include NWES, Great Yarmouth College, Norfolk Constabulary, The Prince’s Trust and Norfolk Chamber of Commerce.
