What the Borough Means to Me - Photo Competition

The deadline for Great Yarmouth Borough Council’s photographic competition ‘What the Borough Means to Me’ has been extended until 5.00 pm on Monday 19 November, which means all budding photographers have an extra two weeks to enter.

The competition which featured in September’s edition of Borough News has already had a good response but we are particularly keen to receive entrants from our younger residents in the under 16’s category.

Whatever your memories are we want you to share them with us.  Most of us have a favourite memory of the Borough.  It may be walking along Gorleston beach, for others it maybe a trip on  the Broads, a day out in Fritton, walking in Burgh Castle or simply relaxing on Caister beach.

Send us your photos from land and seascapes to your friends, family and pets picnicking on Winterton beach. All entries will be exhibited in the Town Hall in December.

The winning entry in the 16 and under category will receive a digital camera and the over 16’s winner vouchers for photographic equipment.  Both winners will see their picture used on the front cover of a future edition of Borough News.

Please send digital entries to boroughnews@great-yarmouth.gov.uk.  Prints should be sent to Karla Symonds, Communications Manager, Great Yarmouth Borough Council, Town Hall, Hall Quay, Great Yarmouth NR30 2QG.  We also need to know your name, address, telephone number and the category you are entering.

We are sorry but we cannot return photographs.  By entering the competition the entrant gives Great Yarmouth Borough Council the right to use the photographs. Occasionally we are asked for images for Council publications such as our resident’s magazine, posters or reports etc. Pictures will not be used for any purpose that will cause distress or embarrassment.
