The weekend of the Maritime Festival (8th & 9th September) offers the opportunity to visit Great Yarmouth Town Hall to take in its history and enjoy a series of talks and features about the Borough.
The Open Days Event has become an annual aspect of the Maritime Festival, and includes a Town Hall Trail which allows the public to view parts of the historic building and items such as paintings, the civic plate collection and town charters.
During the two days of the festival the Town Hall will also host displays by the Great Yarmouth and District Model Boat Club and Gorleston on Sea Heritage Group
There will be a welcome return of The Memory Joggers. A local group, they visit schools, care homes and societies, to bring the past to the present by using objects to recall the ‘Good Old Days’.
A popular feature is talks given by local historian Colin Tooke. He will give four half-hour talks on both days (commencing at 12.30 on Saturday and 11am on Sunday, with his subjects being;
Pubs and Breweries.

The Norfolk Broads.
Entrance to the Town Hall, the displays and talks are free. Tea, coffee and cakes will be available in the Assembly Room.
