Residents Tyre of Flytipping
Residents are being asked to help track down the person responsible for flytipping around 50 tyres in one of the Borough’s rural lanes.
The tyres were dumped over night on Tuesday 27 May on Church Road, West Somerton.
Glen Buck, Community Protection Manager for the Borough Council said, “So far our enquiries into the origin of the tyres have drawn a blank. Unscrupulous businesses sometimes choose to dump tyres rather than pay to dispose of them in the proper way. This spoils the countryside and means the cost of removal falls upon the community. This quantity of tyres would almost certainly have required a van to transport them. We are hoping that somebody may have seen a strange van in the vicinity on Tuesday night and can provide us with information. We want to catch these people and place them before the Courts.”
