NRF Project Leaders Invited to Celebrate
If you were the project leader of one of the 200 or so projects to benefit from the Neighbourhood Renewal Fund (NRF) then you are invited to celebrate its achievements.
Over the last seven years approximately £12 million has benefited organisations throughout the borough, but now the funding has ceased and Rachael Darnell (NRF Manager) and Sandra Goodrum (Support and Monitoring Officer) based at Great Yarmouth Borough Council want to meet with project leaders to celebrate their achievements.
“Seven years is a long time,” said Sandra, “and some people have changed their contact details so we can’t track them down”.
“We are holding a special evening at the Priory Centre on Thursday July 10 and it would be great to see as many of the projects as possible represented.
“They range from smaller donations to organisations like the Alzheimer’s Society of Great Yarmouth who rented premises for the ‘Mainly Men’ project which aims to enhance the wellbeing of mainly males diagnosed with dementia through interaction and social activity, and Age Concern who put on a lunch club once a week (initially) at St John’s Church in Great Yarmouth, to larger projects including capital funding for Cobholm and Lichfield Health and Resource centre to the more recent Opportunities Week held in March which provided an insight into future employment opportunities in Great Yarmouth for both children and adults alike by offering free information, advice and guidance to help plan and secure their future.”
Anyone wanting more information or to book their place at the celebration evening can contact Sandra on 01493 846120 or email sdg@great-yarmouth.gov.uk.
