Paying For Your Bill

You can pay your bill by the following methods—

Payment can be made by any of the following methods:

Direct Debit via your bank or building society

Direct Debit is Great Yarmouth Borough Council's preferred method of payment. Direct Debit is an automated method of paying your bills. We will arrange for your bank or building society to transfer your payments directly to us

The Direct Debit Guarantee:

The Guarantee is offered by all banks and building societies that take part in the Direct Debit scheme. The efficiency and security of the scheme is monitored and protected by your own bank or building society.

If the amounts to be paid or the payment dates change, you will be told of this in advance at least 14 days as agreed.

If an error is made by Great Yarmouth Borough Council, or your bank or building society, you are guaranteed a full and immediate refund from your branch of the amount paid.

You can cancel a Direct Debit at any time by writing to your bank or building society. Please also send a copy of your letter to us.

If you currently pay by any other method and wish to change to Direct Debit, you must complete a PDF Icon Direct Debit Instruction (58kb) and return it to Great Yarmouth Borough Council's Income Section.

Internet

It’s easy, quick and secure to make an online payment. You need to have a copy of the bill and your payment card details. Payments can be made with most major credit or debit cards.

By phone

Telephone our 24 hour Touch Tone payments line on 01493 846117. Payments can be made by Visa, Mastercard, Visa Delta, Switch and solo.

In person

Payment can be made in person Monday to Friday 9am-5pm to the Cashiers Office at:

You can use your payment card to pay at any shop or business displaying the Pay Point symbol.
These points accept cash only and the minimum recommended amount to pay is £5.00.

In person at any Post Office

You can use your payment card to pay at any Post Office.
Cheques should be made payable to ‘Post Office Counters Ltd’.
Please write your account number on the reverse of your cheque.
The minimum recommended amount to pay is £5.00.
