Supplementary Planning Documents (SPD) expand on policies and provide further detail. Communities and stakeholders will have an opportunity to become involved throughout their preparation. This is further detailed in the Great Yarmouth SCI.

There are a number of stages which an SPD must go through before it is adopted by the Council and they also require a Sustainability Appraisal.

It is intended to undertake a review of all existing Supplementary Planning Guidance (SPG) currently adopted under the Borough-Wide Local Plan to ensure that they are suitable for re-adoption as Supplementary Planning documents.

We intend to develop a number of SPDs which will be consulted on concurrently which include:

Biodiversity for Norfolk
Residential Design Guidance
Affordable Housing Provision
Sustainable Development.
