The 1st East Urban Regeneration Company Area Action Plan Preferred Options sets out the planning framework to guide the redevelopment of the brownfield and water front areas of Great Yarmouth and Gorleston.  Following previous consultation on the Area Action Plan Issues and Options the Preferred Options and Draft Sustainability Appraisal Report were made available for comment.

The Urban Regeneration Company Area Action Plan, when adopted, will form a Development Plan Document within the Local Development Framework.  The accompanying Draft Sustainability Appraisal highlights the likely significant economic, social and environmental effects of the proposals in the plan.

Preferred Options Consultation

The Consultation Summary below summaries the responses received at the Preferred Option stage. The issues raised are being evaluated and will help to shape the Area Action Plan before submission to the Secretary of State in 2008. The Council and 1st East are also undertaking further studies to address consultee concerns regarding gaps in the existing evidence base.
