Sports Development

The Borough Council through its Sports Development Service seeks to promote sport and recreation participation and encourage healthier lifetyles within the Borough. A variety of opportunities are on offer.

Opportunities for Young People

Numerous school holiday activities, out of school activities and coaching courses are coordinated throughout the year.

The Sports Development Officer actively works in partnership with local clubs, schools and sports governing bodies to provide opportunities for young people to develop their skills within a local club environment and enjoy life to adulthood and beyond.

Sports Club and Coach Education Programme

In partnership with other Norfolk local authorities and various sport governing bodies, a Norfolk Wide Coach Education Progamme is coordinated by the Norfolk Sports Partnership.

The publication Coaches Voice aims to provide information on a bi-annual basis on all coaching courses in Norfolk with several of the courses held locallty in the borough

Additionally a database is maintained providing information on local clubs/organisations and coaches in the Great Yarmouth area. If an individual wants information on where and how they can participate in a particular sport the Sports Development Service can provide the contact details. However, our information is only as good as the information we receive so please help us to help you by keeping us up to date
