Seven companies from Great Yarmouth, Lowestoft and Norwich will be setting off this weekend to take part in the biggest energy event in the world.

The Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) held annually in Houston, Texas, attracted a record 59,000 visitors last year. Adding 45,000 square feet of exhibits to it previous 470,000 square foot exhibition arena, this year’s event taking place on 30 April – 3 May looks set to be even bigger.

Great Yarmouth Port Authority, Oceanteam 2000 and Petrotec from Great Yarmouth, e3a3, Pegasus and Pilot Drilling Control based in Lowestoft and Laurence, Scott & Electromotors from Norwich will all be exhibiting on the ‘Great Yarmouth – East of England’ stand.

The shared stand, organised by the Great Yarmouth Marketing Initiative (GYMI) and supported by EEEGR and East of England International, allows individual companies to get a high profile exhibition presence for a fraction of the normal cost. This is the fifth consecutive year Great Yarmouth and the region has had a dedicated stand at the show.

Petrotec provides technical consulting and specialist project management for the oil, gas and petrochemical industries. “This is the first time we are exhibiting at OTC,” Karl Reeder, CEO, explains. “We already have a strong presence in Mexico South America and are looking to further explore the current opportunities in the US Gulf of Mexico.”
