It’s time to get your running shoes on to ensure your club or group is part of the new Great Yarmouth Sport and Physical Activity Guide.
A public consultation undertaken by the Borough Council showed that residents wanted to know more about getting active!
“Which is just as well as an Active People survey showed that 58 per cent of the population of Great Yarmouth does nothing to keep fit, with just 11 per cent participating in games or exercise each week,” said Community Sport Project Coordinator, Marten Payne.
“The guide will provide a range of opportunities from dancing, to sport and outdoor activities. To help people get a taster there are free promotional sessions on offer.
“The Great Yarmouth Sports Partnership has gained funding from Sport England to produce and distribute the guide. I have been working with local groups all summer to compile the details - but this is the last chance for any I may have missed to be included.”
The new guide, which will be distributed at the end of September to all homes in the borough, will include details of all local clubs, facilities and activities.
Clubs or groups wanting to be included need to call Marten on 07766 205746 by Tuesday, September 16.
