Getting Cultural with St George's Chapel
St George’s Chapel Great Yarmouth

Culture and art organisations in the borough of Great Yarmouth are being asked for their views on making the best use of St George’s Chapel.

Great Yarmouth Borough Council is committed to refurbishing the 18th century building and has appointed consultants Creative Space Management to identify the best use for the building on the completion of the refurbishment.

The Council is also asking representatives of local groups for their opinions on how to make St George’s the local hub for arts and crafts in the town.

“We are holding a Vision Workshop at the Marina Centre on Tuesday 7 October,” said Culture, Sport and Leisure Manager Marie Hartley.

“We want a wide range of groups to attend to explain what they need and how St George’s Chapel could help them to provide space to work or exhibit, or even if they have more exciting concepts. We are asking our creative people to be just that.”

To attend the workshop email sbailey@great-yarmouth.gov.uk or call Sue Bailey 01493 846303 or Helen Speechley 846435. It is to start at 5.30pm and is expected to finish at 8pm.
