We include the money you earn from employment after deductions have been made for:

• Tax and National Insurance.

• Half of any money you pay into a pension fund.

We do not count:

• The first £5 of the money you earn each week, if you are single.

• The first £10 of the money you earn each week, if you are a couple.

• The first £20 of the money you earn each week, if you are disabled.

• The first £25 of the money you earn each week, if you are a single parent.

You may also be eligible for a further disregard of £12.32 if you fulfill the criteria set.

We also look at any other money you have coming in, this includes most Social Security benefits, maintenance, works pensions, private incomes and any savings or capital you have.

We do not count:

• Disability Living Allowance.

• Attendance Allowance.

• Mobility Allowance.

• War Widows Pension.

• War Disablement Pension.

• Maintenance payments you receive for your dependant child/children.

However, we do need to know if you receive any of these, as you may be entitled to more Council Tax Benefit.
