The Crime and Disorder Act 1998, further amended by the Police Reform Act 2002 and the Anti Social Behaviour Act 2003, placed a joint statutory duty on local authorities to work in partnership to address issues of crime and disorder, substance misuse and a range of anti-social behaviour across the district.
This statutory duty created Great Yarmouth Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership (CDRP).
The statutory members of the partnership are;
Great Yarmouth Borough Council,
Norfolk County Council,
Norfolk Police Authority,
Norfolk Constabulary,
Norfolk Fire and Rescue
Great Yarmouth & Waveney PCT
The partnership is further strengthened through representation by Norfolk Drug and Alcohol Team, Probation Service, Youth Offending Team, Broads Authority and numerous business & community representatives.
The CDRP is a vibrant partnership tackling many aspects of crime across the Borough while working with the LSP in the Social Forum www.gylsp.org.uk to deliver the 2020 Vision for the Borough.
To drive the CDRP’s work a crime audit was carried out in 2004 to look historically at data, statistics and examples of work over the period and will form a base for the next 3 year

The CDRP 3 year strategy outlines its priorities and areas the CDRP is targeting to deliver on its mission statement:
