Your Rights

The Data Protection Act 1998 states that all personal data must:

Be processed fairly and lawfully
Only be obtained and processed for specified and lawful purposes
Be adequate, relevant for the purpose and not excessive
Be accurate and where necessary kept up to date
Not be kept longer than necessary
Be processed in accordance with the rights of data subject
Be kept secure
Not be transferred to other countries without adequate protection for the rights and freedoms of the data subject

Personal data is any data which can be used to identify a living individual. Great Yarmouth Borough Council may need to collect your personal data in order to provide you with council services, as well as for legally required purposes such as council tax and electoral registration. We will not pass on your details to any other organisation without your consent unless there is a legal requirement for us to do so.
