There are several advantages of choosing Great Yarmouth Borough Council as your landlord, as it offers services that many landlords do not. The advantages include:
- Affordable rents.
- Secure tenancies.
- No deposit required.
- Continual improvement of properties (including double-glazing/central heating).
- Area Housing Office services.
- Vouchers to enable tenants to decorate their new homes to their taste.
- Repairs service.
- Low-cost home contents insurance.
- Garden tool lending scheme.
- Friendly, helpful staff.
The Housing Department provides more than bricks and mortar and the local area offices offer a number of services, including receipt of council tax payments as well as normal housing duties. The council can also offer benefits advice to ensure that tenants are receiving all the benefits to which they are entitled.
There are currently a number of houses and flats available to rent in most parts of the town, for all residents (subject to vetting) of Great Yarmouth. Even if you are not currently a resident of Great Yarmouth, you could still be allocated a council house.
