Twenty-four companies from Great Yarmouth, Lowestoft and the East of England region will be exhibiting to an expected 30,000 visitors from all over the world in Aberdeen next week (4-7 September).

The group, led by a partnership of EEEGR (East of England Energy Group), Great Yarmouth Marketing Initiative (GYMI) and Waveney District Council will be showcasing their products and services at the Offshore Europe exhibition – widely recognised as the largest oil and gas exhibition outside North America.

The region offers unrivalled expertise and over 40 years of experience working in the Southern North Sea. Offshore Europe provides an excellent opportunity to promote the area’s skills and opportunities and as a place to invest.

The partnership have organised a busy programme of activities including daily networking receptions sponsored by Louisiana Economic Development and UK Trade & Investment to promote links with overseas markets and investors. Visitors to the stand will include Tony Wright, MP for Great Yarmouth and Azeemeh Zaheer, Vice Consul for Energy at the British Consulate-General Houston who will be helping companies identify opportunities in the US.

Fern Communications and Applied Acoustic Engineering will be using the opportunity to launch their new products. Fern Communications from Lowestoft will be launching the world’s first Atex-approved portable repeater to eliminate communication spots. Also making its debut at Offshore Europe on the region’s stand is the new seismic energy source from Applied Acoustics, based in Great Yarmouth. Their new range is set to become the benchmark ‘workhorse’ seismic power supply.

Stephanie Pimlott, project manager for the group stand said; “the area has been represented at this prestigious event for many years, and we are delighted to be supporting the largest group of companies to this year’s event representing an excellent selection of the supply chain.”

Wendy Mawer, portfolio holder for regeneration at Waveney District Council endorsed the partnership approach to this event; “Working in partnership with Great Yarmouth and the region on this exhibition is an opportunity to showcase the very tangible benefits that are on offer to the industry in our area.”

Any companies visiting Offshore Europe are welcome to visit the Great Yarmouth & Lowestoft – East of England stand (No. 465) or attend one of the receptions held at 3pm daily.
