The Council appreciates that some people incur excess charges by mistake. However, in fairness to customers who pay the correct fee and park properly, it must take firm action to enforce the parking regulations.
However, the Council will consider an appeal against the excess charge and may waive the notice to pay if one of the following circumstances apply:

1.The customer can produce a ticket purchased by themselves which was valid at the time the excess charge notice was issued.

2.The excess charge notice contains errors or inaccuracies.

3.The customer incurred an excess charge because of a recorded fault in the pay and display machine.

4.When a customer overstays the parking time purchased because they were delayed by either proven medical emergency circumstances or an unusual occurrence in the Town.

Appeals will only be considered if made in writing and addressed to:- The Car Parks Manager, Property Services, Town Hall, Hall Plain, Great Yarmouth, NR30 2QF.
