Council Tax is payable on all domestic property and contributes to the cost of services provided by Great Yarmouth Borough Council. It raises over £3.5 million of the money spent by Great Yarmouth Borough Council on local services. The remaining cost is met from business rates, government grants and charges for using services.

The amount of Council Tax payable varies according to the value of your home. This is achieved by the Valuation Office Agency (Inland Revenue) placing all domestic property into one of eight property bands (A to H).

The amount for each band is calculated and shown under Council Tax Charges. Many households do not have to pay the full amount as they qualify for one or more reductions.
