Neighbourhoods and communities
How do we work with local communities?
We have three neighbourhood offices:
- Comeunity on King Street
- Make it Happen at the Kings Centre
- MESH on the Shrublands site
At each of these offices we have a team of people who engage with local people, listen to ideas, link people into services and activities as well as offering practical support for community projects and activities. We work in partnership with local employers, public sector agencies, voluntary organisations and community groups and residents to help make strong and vibrant communities.

MESH
MESH is Gorleston's Neighbourhood Programme. We aim to assist local people to become more personally resilient and less reliant on services. We build upon a sense of community by supporting groups and activities. We cover all subjects that affect everyday life in Gorleston from parking to befriending. We work with a variety of organisations and partners to bring services into Gorleston, recognising that the bus fare into Great Yarmouth is often prohibitive.
To get involved, email the MESH team, phone them on 01493 604739, or follow them on Twitter via @MESHOffice (opens new window) .
