Introduction

The Borough offers a wealth of sports and leisure facilities, parks and children's playgrounds.  We are committed to creating a healthy, vibrant community with sport and physical activity playing an integral part. What sports facilities do you offer?

Freedom Leisure (opens new window), working in partnership with the Council, runs the Marina Centre (opens new window) (due to open in summer 2022) and the Phoenix Leisure Centre (opens new window)

Are there any cycle routes in the Borough?

Download our  cycle map for Great Yarmouth and the surrounding area (PDF) [3MB] (opens new window)  with seven leisurely routes, mostly run on roads and dedicated cycleways. It aims to provide cyclists with routes that make the most of the rich and varied local scenery in the area, from beaches to historic churches, to longer cycle routes that take in castles, windmills, country estates and other tourist attractions.

How can I get involved in promoting cycling across the Borough?

There is a local Cycle Forum that meets to encourage and promote cycling and to influence policy, and is involved in the implementation and design of many cycle schemes across the Borough.
