Sets out how each application to join the housing register will be assessed on its individual merits, taking into account the needs of the applicant and any members of their household as a whole.

The Great Yarmouth Housing Allocations Scheme has been developed in accordance with the:

• Housing Act 1996 as amended by the Localism Act 2011
• relevant statutory regulations

Regard has been made to the following:

• codes of guidance
• Preventing Homelessness and Rough Sleeping Strategy
• Tenancy Strategy
• Tenancy Policy
• the public sector equality duty
• Section 11 of the Children Act 2004
• the provisions in the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017
