A summary of the review of homelessness in the borough of Great Yarmouth

Summary

The Homelessness Act 2002 places a duty on local housing authorities in England, to
formulate a homelessness strategy at least every five years. A review of homelessness in a
local housing authority area must take place prior to a homelessness strategy being
formulated and published. The legislation requires local housing authorities to take strategic
responsibility for tackling and preventing homelessness in their local authority area. This
duty complements other duties local housing authorities have to advise and assist persons
who are homeless or threatened with homelessness.

This is a summary review of the full homelessness review document.
