Great Yarmouth Borough Council is to exhibit the medals of Fred Sadd, a firefighter who saved 27 lives during the 1953 East Coast Floods in Great Yarmouth. The catastrophic flooding saw more than 300 lives lost and thousands more made homeless.

Great Yarmouth residents need photo ID to vote at elections in May

For the first time, all electors in England will need to show photographic ID to vote at this year's local elections. Residents are being urged to make sure they are ready to vote in May by checking they have an accepted form of ID.
