Building control

Introduction

Building control: staff members are partially working remotely

If you are unable to contact us via telephone and require advice, to book an inspection or to report a dangerous structure, please contact the Building control team via this email or telephone number.

If you require a next-day inspection, your email request must reach us before 12 noon on the previous working day. Any such email requests received after 12 noon will not be eligible for a next-day inspection and will be booked in for the day after (excluding weekends).

Please provide as much information as possible (such as address, query and contact number) to enable us to assist you.

Even if you have received planning consent for your building project, you may still need building regulation consent before you can start work. The Planning Portal website lists all the supporting documents, known as 'approved documents'. You might also find the LABC website useful.

You might also want to read the information on the Electrical Safety First website or look for a registered electrician

If you are undertaking any work to your home you may wish to read the new LABC Norfolk Guide to Renovating Your Home and Guide to Extending your Home.

Please read this privacy notice detailing how submitted information will be handled. Also, please see the information in our data protection section, including our General Data Protection Regulations policy.
