Tourism

Great Yarmouth no longer has a Tourist Information Centre. Instead, see Visit Great Yarmouth's online visitor information (opens new window) and email enquiries to [email protected].

Visit the official tourism website (opens new window) for all the information you might need to plan a fun day trip, an amazing holiday or just a night out.

Great Yarmouth has been a seaside resort since the early 1700s. Tourism is big business locally, worth £648m per annum to the area. 23% of all jobs in the area are tourism related.

Business Improvement District (BID)

A five-year Business Improvement District focusing on tourism was implemented in 2014 by the Greater Yarmouth Tourism and Business Improvement Area Ltd. It was voted in for another five years in 2019, with a new public-facing name of Visit Great Yarmouth. Another vote in 2024 sees the BID voted in for another five years. The aim is to raise the profile of Great Yarmouth as a destination, highlighting the unique and differentiated offer of the area as a whole. The goal is ultimately to bring more visitors, increase spend and drive more business to local traders. The Council is pleased to be a partner in the BID.

For more information on the BID, visit the Greater Yarmouth Tourism and Business Improvement Area (opens new window) website.
