Great Yarmouth Heritage Guides' family-friendly walk for half term

Great Yarmouth Heritage Guides are starting their season in February half term with 'Yucky Yarns'.

The family-friendly walk takes place on Wednesday, February 21, starting at 11am, meeting at the Front Gates of Great Yarmouth Minster.

The fun and interactive walk will be led by 'Jemima Black', the custodian of the big book of Yarmouth Yucky Yarns who tells children about the horrendous history of Great Yarmouth.

The walk covers gory stories, ghastly goings on with pirates, graveyard tricks and a secret chest!

Aimed at primary school-aged children (6-11), the walk lasts about one hour and comes with an activity book to complete, so families are urged to bring a pen or pencil.

Tickets for adults and children cost £4 per person with booking essential at www.heritage-walks.co.uk Bookings close 48 hours ahead of the walk.

Yucky Yarns walks will also take place on Wednesday, April 10, at 11am and Wednesday, May 29, at 11am.

An exciting 'Yucky Tea' is also scheduled for Sunday, July 28, and Thursday, October 31, both starting at 2pm. These will include the Yucky Yarns walk and then a yucky-themed afternoon tea at Kirsty's Cakery in the town.
