Nominations invited for candidates in Norfolk County Council elections which take place on Thursday, May 7

In addition to elections for Norfolk County Council on Thursday, May 7, there will also be a by-election on the same day for the Caister South ward of Great Yarmouth Borough Council, following the recent death of Councillor Malcolm Bird.

Nominations are invited for the local elections

Nominations from anyone who wishes to stand as a candidate in the elections can be received until 4pm on Thursday, April 9.

Nomination papers for those wishing to stand in any of the nine divisions within the Great Yarmouth borough or for the Caister South ward must be delivered to the Deputy Returning Officer at Great Yarmouth Borough Council, Town Hall, Great Yarmouth, NR30 2QF. An appointment is needed for the delivery of papers.

In order to stand in the elections, a candidate must meet the relevant qualifying criteria, and must also sign and submit the nomination form, together with consent to nomination. For further guidance visit www.electoralcommission.org.uk.
