Couples invited to Wedding Open Day at Great Yarmouth Town Hall
COUPLES looking to tie the knot are invited to a special Wedding Open Day at Great Yarmouth's historic Town Hall on Saturday, October 13, from 10am to 12.30pm.
This is a chance to meet the team from Marry in Norfolk and explore the landmark building, which is increasingly popular as a stylish and cost-effective venue for civil wedding ceremonies and other celebrations.
The grade II-listed Town Hall, built in red brick and sandstone in the renaissance-style between 1880 and 1882, has five beautifully-decorated function rooms licensed for civil ceremonies of different sizes.
The prestigious building is also available for baby-naming ceremonies, marriage celebrations, commitment ceremonies and renewal of vows, which the team from Marry in Norfolk are happy to conduct.
The stunning wood-panelled Assembly Room stretches the whole length of the Town Hall, with space for 140 guests, as well as views over Historic South Quay, a full catering kitchen and fully-licensed bar.
The tranquil Supper Room, at the top of the Town Hall's grand curving staircase, is suitable as the venue for a stylish civil ceremony, catering for up to 70 guests.
Meanwhile the intimate Rambouillet Room, which has space for up to 30 guests, retains its late 18th-century style ceiling, and boasts moulded cornice and picture rails on the walls, with views over Hall Quay and Breydon Water.
Couples who are unable to attend on October 13 are invited to arrange a viewing by calling Laura Goodman on 01493 846125.
