Grant funding opportunity for VCSE delivery in Great Yarmouth borough

Great Yarmouth Borough Council is inviting applications from providers from the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) Sector who are suitably qualified and experienced to deliver some or all of a range of projects/services within the Great Yarmouth Borough during 2019/20.

A diverse range of community organisations, voluntary bodies, faith groups and neighbourhood groups make up the Voluntary ,Community and Social Enterprise Sector (VCSE) in Great Yarmouth. Many of these organisations are very small and some act as informal groups rather than registered charities. The local VCSE make an enormous contribution to the borough in many different ways: they help communities develop skills to create new opportunities; tackle inequalities between communities, promote leadership within communities so they become more confident to do things for themselves; foster cohesion, so communities feel more united; and improve quality of life for residents. The council recognises and values the unique contribution the Voluntary and Community Sector (VCSE) makes in supporting and delivering services that meet the needs of local people, and this is reflected in this exciting funding opportunity being made available

The council is keen to ensure that grants are awarded in line with helping to deliver the council's strategic objectives outlined in its Corporate Plan.  As a result, the following themes will be used for considering applications when making decisions around awarding grants in 2019/20:

  • Housing: Support helping people with advice on debt/household budgeting and in crisis situations (whether they are or are not related specifically to housing)
  • Economic Growth: Providing direct support to help people in developing their skills and capabilities to access meaningful occupation and paid employment
  • Environment: Support to significantly improve the borough's open and green spaces

Delivery period: 1 Year

NB. All grant funding will be aligned to the council's strategic plan and applicants will be expected to show how their proposed delivery will also benefit Great Yarmouth Borough Council housing tenants. Maximum awards of £25,000 per organisation.

Applications can be submitted via the pro-contract system and organisations which need support or advice can contact Great Yarmouth Borough Council through the Pro Contract messaging function to arrange assistance.

The deadline for applications is 12/12/2018 at 18:00
