Council invites residents to online business event 'New Year, New Business?'

Great Yarmouth Borough Council is continuing to hold online business events offering support, advice and guidance for local residents and businesses. The next event, to be held on Friday 18th December at 10.30am, is aimed at anyone looking to start their own new business or go self-employed in 2021.

The one-hour event, which will take place via Zoom, is free to attend for any residents based in the Great Yarmouth borough. Guest speaker Richard Voisey, a business consultant from Nwes, will focus on the five key areas to consider when starting a business, how to start a business and whether it's something that may work for any individuals attending.

The event will also highlight what help is available locally, look at sources of funding for new start-ups and what courses are available free of charge to residents in the Borough to assist them in starting a new business or becoming self-employed.

Cllr Carl Smith, leader of the council, said: "The beginning of a new year and the new year resolutions that come with it is the ideal time to try new things. For some, it may be the time to consider setting up that new business they'd always dreamed of or finally taking the leap into self-employment.

"We know that we already have a long list of talented entrepreneurs in the borough, that's highlighted annually through the Spirit of Enterprise Awards, and look forward to adding to the ever-growing list.

"This is the third online event in this series of business events and we're extremely proud to be able to offer unique guidance from various guest speakers from different business sectors."
