Couples invited to view prestigious Town Hall as wedding venue

The Open Day will be run from 11am until 3pm, giving couples the opportunity to explore the beautifully decorated rooms and meet a handful of local wedding suppliers. Members of the council's events team will also be present to answer questions.

Complimentary teas and coffees will be available, as well as free entry and free car parking in Greyfriars Car Park. Couples will also be able to enter a free prize draw with the chance to win £200 off venue hire and 50 free chair covers and sashes.

The Grade II* listed building has five beautifully decorated function rooms licensed for civil ceremonies of different sizes. The prestigious building is also available for marriage celebrations, commitment ceremonies and renewal of vows.

The Town Hall has options to suit intimate services up to much larger wedding parties, with space for up to 200 people in the grand Assembly Room. Each high vaulted, airy room can seat a number of different guests, enabling the Town Hall to cater for all sized occasions.

Weddings can be tailored to meet the requirements of the couple, from civil ceremonies followed by a simple drink's reception, up to an entire day of celebrations with a three-course wedding breakfast. As well as the wedding packages on offer, couples who get married at the Town Hall can also choose to book their own caterers.
