Have your say on plan for the future of Hemsby

People are being invited to have their say on the final draft of a neighbourhood plan for Hemsby.

The plan, developed by Hemsby Parish Council, sets out planning policies for the parish and these will be used, alongside the borough local plans and national planning rules, to decide planning applications in the village.

The plans must pass through a series of formal stages and follow nationally set 'basic conditions' before coming into force. The plan has now been published by Great Yarmouth Borough Council for public consultation. Comments made at this stage will be considered as part of what is called the 'examination' of the plan.

Cllr Carl Annison, chairman of Great Yarmouth Borough Council's development control committee said: "We encourage everyone with an interest in Hemsby to have their say on the Neighbourhood Plan, as we want it to be formed by those living and enjoying Hemsby."

During the consultation period, copies of the neighbourhood plan and the supporting documents will be available on the Borough Council's website or at Town Hall, Hall Plain, Great Yarmouth, NR30 2QF. For help accessing them, please contact a member of the team by email localplan@great-yarmouth.gov.uk or call 01493 846270.

Comments should be made by email to localplan@great-yarmouth.gov.uk or in writing to: Strategic Planning, Great Yarmouth Borough Council, Town Hall, Hall Plain, Great Yarmouth, NR30 2QF by midday on Tuesday 8 November 2022.
