1940s Big Band Dance swings back to Town Hall

Doors open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start, offering a perfect opportunity for novice dancers, professional dancers and everyone in between to soak up the big band fun up until the event finishes at 11pm.

The amazing Super Swing Big Band is a traditional big band - consisting of four trumpets, four trombones, five saxophones, a clarinet, a four-piece rhythm section and a vocalist - and will entertain the crowd with music firmly rooted in the swing era.

Dancers are encouraged to dress to impress in their best 1940s get up, don their dancing shoes and rock around the dancefloor to popular swing songs from the 1940s and 1950s.

A dance demonstration and workshop will be delivered by DJ Swingymabob, who offers dance classes that are a fun and friendly way for people to start, improve and polish their Lindy Hop dancing.

Tickets are priced at just £19.50 and can be ordered via the council's events team at events@great-yarmouth.gov.uk or 01493 846154. The ticket includes the dance demonstration and workshop and access to a fully licensed bar.
