The Visit Great Yarmouth Wheels Festival is set to take place on Saturday, July 1, from 10am to 6pm and Sunday, July 2, from 10am to 4pm, offering visitors a chance to see stunning cars, motorcycles and everything else wheels in the East of England.

While the festival remains free to attend, Great Yarmouth Borough Council has teamed up with the East Anglian Air Ambulance to raise vital funds for its life-saving work.

Volunteers from the East Anglian Air Ambulance will have a presence over the weekend of the festival - now known as Visit Great Yarmouth Wheels Festival in aid of EAAA (East Anglian Air Ambulance) - and will be collecting donations in buckets.

Once again, the festival is expected to be a highlight of the Norfolk summer season, with activities and events for all ages and interests. Visitors can expect to see a wide range of vehicles, including classic cars, sports cars and supercars, as well as vintage motorcycles, custom bikes and electric vehicles.

The principal funder of the popular event is Visit Great Yarmouth, which aims to bring together the local tourism and business community to promote the borough and encourage residents and visitors to enjoy all the town has to offer.

Some of the highlights of this year's festival include exhilarating attractions such as The Ken Fox Wall of Death, Red Dragon Monster Truck Rides and On The Edge Motorbike Stunt Team.

The festival takes place on Great Yarmouth seafront, where visitors can take in the stunning views while enjoying the full range of activities and attractions. There will also be a number of interactive exhibits, trade stands and displays.

Lyndon Bevan, chairman of Visit Great Yarmouth said: "We are really looking forward to working with Great Yarmouth Borough Council again to bring our residents and visitors Visit Great Yarmouth Wheels Festival 2023.

"Helping East Anglian Air Ambulance raise vital funds for their cause, we are hoping for a great turnout and for members of the public to donate generously. They have a fundraising target of £17.2m this year and we are proud this festival will be able to help."

An East Anglian Air Ambulance spokesperson said: ''We are incredibly grateful to Great Yarmouth Borough Council for supporting us with the Wheels Festival this year. East Anglian Air Ambulance is an independent charity providing life-saving critical care 24 hours a day. We receive no regular government funding and rely almost entirely on public support. Each mission costs on average £3,750 and we need to raise £17m a year from charitable donations. Fundraising events such as these ensure we can continue providing our life-saving service in Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire 365 days a year.''
