Public invited to buy tickets for Mayor's charity quiz night and bingo evening

The Mayor of Great Yarmouth is set to host two fun charity events to raise money for her chosen charities for her year of office.

The Mayor, Councillor Penny Carpenter, has arranged for a charity quiz night and a bingo evening to take place at the Assembly Room at the Town Hall in Great Yarmouth. And members of the public are now being invited to take part in both events.

The quiz night will take place at 7pm on Friday, March 22. Quizmaster will be Tony Kidd and there will be 12 rounds with a prize for the winning team. Tickets cost £2 per person and teams should have maximum of six people.

The bingo evening takes place at 7pm on Wednesday, April 10. There will be prizes to be won throughout the evening and the event costs £5 per person - this includes all the supplies people need to play.

All the money raised at the events will be donated to the Mayor's chosen charities - Caister Lifeboat, Caister First Group Scouts, Marie Curie and the Redwings Horse Sanctuary.

The Mayor, Councillor Carpenter, said: ''The quiz night and bingo evening promise to be great fun for residents and will see us raise vital funds for charity.

''If you're a quizzer or enjoy bingo, these events at the Town Hall are definitely dates for your diaries. We look forward to seeing as many people as possible attend and supporting these important causes at the same time as having a great night.''
