Council invites Great Yarmouth businesses to online event with Bank of England offering insight into UK economy

Great Yarmouth Borough Council is inviting businesses to an online event with a guest speaker from the Bank of England offering expert insight from behind the scenes of the UK economy.

The event, which will take place via Zoom on Wednesday, 18th November at 10.30am, is free to attend for any businesses based in the Great Yarmouth borough. The guest speaker is Patrick Campbell, Deputy Agent for the Bank of England's South East and East Anglia Agency.

Offering a greater understanding of how central banks work, their role in the economy and provide a better knowledge of how decisions relate to the wider economy and businesses, the online talk is aimed at CEOs, CFOs, MDs, owners, partners, finances officers, accountants, senior management holder and sales and operation managers.

Cllr Carl Smith, leader of the council, said: "This is a brilliant opportunity for locally-based businesses to get some valuable insight into how the Bank of England and foreign exchange markets work, as well as ask wider questions about the UK economy. This is the second in a series of online advice and support events we are holding for local businesses, the first of which focussed on grant funding opportunities."
