Council team up with Age Connected to host free Health and Wellbeing event
Residents aged fifty and over are being invited to a new, free Health and Wellbeing Event at the Acorn Centre, located at 8-9 Regent St, Great Yarmouth, on Wednesday 22, June.
Great Yarmouth Borough Council and Age Connected have joined forces to organise and host the event in hope that residents who attend will learn new skills and tools to assist with their wellbeing.
The event, which will take place from 10am until 3pm, will offer a variety of stalls for visitors to browse, including information about benefit advice, debt support, reduction in utility bills and mental health support.
Residents will also be able to get their blood pressure checked, and watch demonstrations for seated exercises, cooking on a budget and mindfulness.
Cllr Emma Flaxman-Taylor, chairperson of the Housing and Neighbourhood Committee, said "Events like these are great opportunities for residents to get help and advice on issues that matter to them. Whether it be debt support or help with benefit information, these can be difficult if attempted alone so it's great to see partners working together."
This is a free drop in event for anyone over the age of fifty to attend. For more information, please contact James Dudley, Community Champion Programme Co-Ordinator, on James.Dudley@great-yarmouth.gov.uk
